AIM AND OBJECTIVES
THE AIM OF THE PROJECT:
- The aim of the project is to create opportunities for the social
interaction of youth by fostering intercultural dialogues among young
people from different countries and helping them to develop a mutual
understanding.
What’s more, the project will focus on the fundamental
role in human history that folklore has since it reflects cultural and
social identity. Sayings, recipes, songs, folk dances, riddles,
handicrafts and customs are all different expressions of folklore.
Moreover, students will be engaged in searching for and collecting
material to be exchanged and analyzed. The consciousness of our own
cultural identity is extremely important especially in era where the
phenomenon of globalization is leading younger generations almost to
forget about their origins and cultures.
Activities will be also being
aimed at promoting and enhancing positive behaviours while preventing
the negative ones. Nowadays, violence is becoming an increasingly urgent
problem to be solved both at school and outside it. That is why, the
main goal will be the following fundamental points:
- the continuous
evaluation of both the recovery of the cultural characteristics of
participants through its folklore and the interference due to
globalization;
- the promotion of foreign language skills;
- the idea of the
school as a place of excellence in constructively learning and
participating in civic life and;
- finally the desire to collaborate with
local and regional institutions;
There will be different sub topics in
each partner country like:
a theatre play in DE; sport activities and
short movies in PL-BG; a choir, traditional games and costumes in GR-CY;
literature, collage, drawings and masks in UK-RO; traditional recipes
from partners in IT; traditional arts like Ebru & Hat and photos in
LV -TR.
OBJECTIVES:
- To prevent students from violence and bullying;

To teach conflict-avoidance skills;

To increase the ability to solve conflicts harmoniously through dialogue;
- To help students gain valuable communication and problem solving experiences;

To improve pupil’s social skills;

To support students’ school and life successes;

To develop knowledge among students and teachers of the diversity of European cultures and languages and its value;

To learn about European countries;

To give pupils knowledge of folklore and all it comprises;

To promote intercultural dialogue between different countries;

To encourage the learning of modern foreign languages;

To support the development of innovative ICT-based content, services, pedagogies and practice in lifelong learning;

To foster intercultural awareness and respect for human rights in
conjunction with the creation of a multi-sensory perception and
knowledge and diversity -on behalf of the students;

To foster intercultural awareness through ICT tools;

To help students develop awareness of the impact of technology on culture and the risks to humans;
